In the hushed atmosphere of Victorian english teahouses, friends and lovers show their affection by exchanging bouquets of flowers, the Tussie Mussie.
But bouquets must be carefully composed, because each flower has its own meaning!
Gift flowers, apply their effects, compose bouquets and score more points than your opponents in this subtle card game with delightfully devious mechanics, which also features a particularly ingenious solitaire mode.
Subtle, intense, elegant
Tussie Mussie is a particularly elegant card game that invites players to exchange cards representing flowers, each of which obviously has its own meaning... and its effects.
The goal of the game is to get the most points at the end of 4 rounds.
In turn, the player draws two cards and consults them.
Then he places them in front of an opponent.
One face up, the other face down.
This player must then choose which one he keeps, placed in front of him.
The other is then returned to the first player, by sliding it in front of him.
The face-down card is therefore never turned over, only the player who drew it knows its nature.
This mechanic is remarkably simple... but also of perfidy.
Which card to take, which card to leave?
As you strategize as you collect or give away cards, you can try to combine them to maximize the points you get.
And since the game is made up of 18 cards, you can also try to deduce which cards you didn't see.
Are they in the pickaxe, in the hands of your opponents, or face down in front of you?
The intensity of the games is remarkable and allows for particularly spectacular turnarounds.
A must-have at tea time
With Tussie Mussie, Elizabeth Hargraves confirms her incredible talent as a playwright, revealed with Wingspan. Tussie Mussie is as simple as it is profound, and the mechanic of offering face-up and face-down cards instills incomparable sensations for such a simple to grasp. Each round of the game is a permanent dilemma, with an attempt to read the opponent's game and his hypothetical bluff.
This overall feeling of rhythm and elegance is enhanced by the magnificent artistic direction of Zarina Karapetyan, who allows us to immerse ourselves in a floral, light and poetic universe, and to smell the sweet scent of a "Five O'Clock Tea" in a living room with discreet music.
A great moment of play in a small box, which is the essence of Mini Games.
The single-player mode, which is particularly nice, also allows you to have fun and challenge yourself alone.
