Inhabited by different clans, the islands of the Great Sea spawn traders, warriors and chieftains. It may be seen as an opportunity to make political connections, but a wizard or mage prefers to go there to train, hunt monsters, and go on adventures. It can be very beneficial to visit the Skellige Islands, as well as other unexplored islands, but such trips rarely come at a cost.

You get a significant board expansion with new locations and location tokens. Your map gets bigger and more interesting. There's a special way to travel to the islands using ship minifigures, and each voyage always comes with a new maritime adventure. There's a pack of exploration and event cards specifically designed for this expansion, and some of them may result in the summoning of Dagon, an ancient monster.
