King Manuel I of Portugal wanted to leave his mark on the 16th century.

To this end, he asked the country's most talented craftsmen to design prestigious buildings.

After the palaces of Évora and Sintra, the monarch now wishes to pursue his dream by requesting that a summer pavilion be erected especially in his honour.

As with the other buildings, this one will be entrusted to the most gifted craftsman in Portugal.

The pavilion will have to showcase all the prestige of the royal family.

Unfortunately, Manuel 1st died before the work began, and never had the pleasure of contemplating the longed-for building.

In Azul - Summer Pavilion, players are tasked with decorating the floors of the Summer Pavilion according to the wishes of the late King Manuel 1st.

Fans will immediately recognize Azul's draft mechanic, but will be intrigued by the new way of scoring points based on assembling tile patterns.

The new shape of the tiles now allows you to create beautiful star patterns on your player board.

Make the best use of the finest materials to beautify the building while avoiding wasting your precious resources.

The competition will be tough.

Such a project attracts artisans from all over the country.

But only one of you will be entrusted with the project.

Will you be the craftsman who will revive this prestigious project in honor of the memory of the late sovereign?

To be the player with the highest number of points at the end of the game, you will need to use your resources skillfully.

The game is played in 6 rounds, each consisting of the following phases:

Phase 1: Retrieving the tiles

Take all tiles of the same color from the center of the table or from the Factory circle of your choice.

Phase 2: Tile Placement

Choose a space on your tray to fill, check the cost, and place a tile of that color on that space.

Phase 3: Preparing for the next round

Advance the round marker, then start this new round.

Fill in the Factory circles, put the First Player marker back in the center of the table, and place the stored tiles next to your board.

At the end of the 6th round, proceed to the final tally of points.

The tiles kept at the end of this round are discarded in the tower.

Each tile deducts one point from the player.

The player with the highest number of points wins the game.

In the event of a tie, the victory is shared between the players involved.
