New to IELLO Expert, Ancient Knowledge is a strategic card game in which you erect monuments and build artifacts. Your goal: to pass on your knowledge through time. The latter will indeed make your constructions ephemeral, condemning them little by little to oblivion.

It is therefore up to you to find the best synergies to pass on knowledge before the decline of the emblematic monuments you have erected. From the Mexican pyramids to the Sphinx of Giza, from the famous cities of Tiwanaku to Babylon, only the most skilled builders will be able to shine through the ages and achieve victory. Because in this game, your only enemy is time.

Original and ingenious gameplay

The goal of the game is to earn more victory points than your opponents by playing monument cards, and saving as much knowledge as possible from oblivion.

On their turn, players build monuments or artifacts and obtain Knowledge cards, but they also have the option of spending cards to archive knowledge, i.e. prevent it from sinking into oblivion. Indeed: at each turn the monuments are shifted by one location, so that the one closest to the edge of the plateau then falls into decline. All the knowledge points still present on the monument will then fall into oblivion and become negative points at the end of the game. Most cards, fortunately, have effects that, when combined, allow you to archive Knowledge. It is therefore necessary to create an efficient engine to optimize the decline phase and lose as little knowledge as possible.

This engine building mechanic on such a strong theme generates particularly intense game sensations and rich in a tension that increases in intensity over the turns, the stakes and the optimizations to be found. The direct interaction is subtle but adds even more nervousness between players for often epic endgames.
