Riftbound: Vendetta
Riftbound: Vendetta, the set that puts rivalries in the spotlight
After the previous expansions, Riftbound returns with Vendetta, its fourth set, an expansion entirely focused on the greatest rivalries in the League of Legends universe. With new mechanics, iconic champions, and new products, Vendetta promises to refresh the gaming experience while featuring legendary encounters.
Duels that have become legendary
The main theme of Vendetta is simple: each game tells a story of rivalry. Whether it's Shen vs. Zed, Mel vs. Ambassa, or Nasus vs. Renekton, the expansion celebrates the conflicts that have shaped Runeterra. Riot Games has built this set around these iconic oppositions in order to offer a strong identity both in terms of gameplay and artistic direction.
New game mechanics
Vendetta introduces several new mechanics designed to enrich the strategy:
- Flow, which rewards sequences of actions.
- Burn, a mechanic geared towards damage and constant pressure.
- Empower, allowing you to gradually strengthen your cards.
- Unit-Gear, a new type of hybrid card.
- Decrees, a new category of cards that bring unique effects.
These new features offer more deck-building opportunities while renewing existing playstyles.
A more compact, but richer set
Vendetta includes 166 cards, which is a slightly smaller format than some previous sets. On the other hand, Riot is focusing on the collection with more than 50 Showcase cards, Overnumbered variants as well as several exclusive illustrations from the Crystal Rose collaboration with Wild Rift.
New products
The expansion also marks the arrival of a brand new product: Showdown Decks. The first set features two ready-to-play decks featuring Shen and Zed, perfect for getting started with the game or setting up games right away. Boosters and displays are naturally making a comeback alongside prerelease kits.
An expected extension
With its assertive visual identity, new mechanics and iconic confrontations, Vendetta promises to be one of the most striking expansions of Riftbound. Whether you're a competitor or a collector, this fourth set brings enough new features to renew the experience while staying true to the League of Legends universe.
Riftbound: Vendetta is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026 in english and Chinese, while the french version will arrive at a later date.
