LEDA: an asymmetrical duel game
LEDA: an asymmetrical dueling game where each clan writes its own legend
With LEDA, the publisherSorry We Are French offers a fully asymmetrical card game for two players, combining tactical confrontation, resource management and engine construction. Imagined by Pierrick Libralesso, Renaud Libralesso and Yoel Sayada, and illustrated by David Sitbon, the game invites players to take control of animal clans with very distinct ambitions in a universe as original as it is fascinating.
A world where animal clans compete for the future
In the forgotten realm of Leda, animal species have awakened and built their own civilizations. Cats, Pandas, Sharks and Scorpions now compete to impose their vision of the future, linked by a mysterious grid of energy that structures the world. While conflict is inevitable, victory is not based solely on strength: strategy, adaptation and anticipation will be the real keys to success.
Gameplay that's as accessible as it is deep
LEDA is designed for two players, from 14 years old, with games of about 30 minutes. Each player has a grid of 4 × 4 tiles representing their territory. As the game progresses, this grid evolves thanks to the cards played and the improvements made, creating a real personalized game engine.
Each round, an Action tile determines which area of the grid will be activated. The effects of cards in this area are triggered, allowing you to produce resources, strengthen your board or prepare future combinations. But this activation also benefits the adversary, which creates a permanent tension where every decision can backfire.
Four Clans, Four Ways to Win
One of LEDA's great strengths lies in its asymmetry. The Core Box features four clans, each with their own unique playstyle and victory condition.
-
The Sharks favor aggression and seek to dominate their opponents militarily.
-
Scorpios rely on building portals and controlling the terrain.
-
The Pandas must reunite their King and Queen to win the game.
-
Cats manipulate their pickaxe to craft powerful rings and optimize their cards.
This diversity ensures that the games are constantly renewed and encourages players to explore radically different strategies depending on the clan chosen.
A game designed to last
LEDA doesn't stop at its basic box. Sorry We Are French are already planning several expansions that will introduce new clans, each bringing its own mechanics and objectives. This evolution promises to further enrich the strategic possibilities and replayability of the game.
A tactical duel that renews the genre
Thanks to its advanced asymmetry, its original zone activation system and its unique animal universe, LEDA offers an experience that is both accessible and demanding. The rules are quickly learned, but mastering the different clans requires reflection and anticipation, making each confrontation a real duel of minds.
For fans of two-player strategy games, LEDA promises to be one of the most original proposals in Sorry We Are French, combining quick games, strong replayability and tactical depth in a universe rich in personality.
