Babel is a contemporary fantasy role-playing game, in which players take on the role of Biblionauts. Although simple humans, they have developed the quite exceptional ability to travel through books physically (and not simply through their imagination as for ordinary mortals). What role-player, after having just closed a fascinating book, has not wanted to have his friends play a scenario set in this fictional universe? With Babel, it's quite possible.

However, not all adventures take place in the world of one or more books. The characters also evolve in our contemporary world, slightly altered, of course, by the existence of book worlds, their manifestations in the real world, the curious objects linked to them or the groups that engage in an occult struggle there.

As Biblionauts, the PCs seek to preserve the Classification: the order of the books in the Library of Babel, a timeless place where all the stories written since the beginning of humanity are stored. There are two main types of scenarios in Babel:

• those where an event occurring in the world of the Reals (this may concern the author, the fans of the latter, certain copies of the work...) affects a world of books
• those where an event occurring in a book world upsets the Leaderboard, which affects the Reals world.
