Green Stuff World - Glue - Plastic Glue - 40ml

Plastic glue, which is specially designed for modeling and modeling, is known as cement glue. This type of glue is the most effective for bonding plastic materials, as its formula allows the surfaces to chemically fuse, creating a strong and long-lasting bond.

This model adhesive for the modelling of plastics comes in liquid form and is applied to the surfaces to be glued. The glue partially melts the parts to be assembled, creating a kind of "weld" between them. This chemical process allows the parts to fuse together, resulting in a seamless finish and a stronger connection, similar to what happens in metal welding. Plastic glue is therefore ideal for working with materials such as polystyrene, ABS, plastic card and HIPS, which are commonly used in model making and model making.

Some of the main advantages of plastic glue include the strength of the bond, which ensures the durability of the assembly, the speed of drying and compatibility with different types of materials. In addition, the chemical action of the weld eliminates visible seams, resulting in a cleaner, more professional finish. However, due to the release of vapours during the process, it is essential to use this product in a well-ventilated area to avoid harmful inhalation.

Choosing the best plastic adhesive depends on the type of material and the intended use. There are several options, each with its own unique characteristics. For example, cyanoacrylate, known as instant glue, offers fast and strong adhesion, although it tends to be brittle in some applications. Epoxy resin, on the other hand, is a popular choice due to its high structural strength and versatility for different materials, although it must be mixed before being applied. The polyurethane version is ideal for materials that need flexibility, while solvent-based versions, such as acetone, work well by chemically melting the surface of certain materials.

Cement Glue is considered the strongest adhesive for bonding plastics, as its solvent welding process creates an extremely strong seamless bond. This adhesive penetrates by fusing the parts at the molecular level, resulting in a unified and highly durable assembly. Unlike other adhesives that only adhere superficially, the glue is embedded in the material, giving it greater resistance to stress and environmental factors.

To achieve good adhesion with plastic adhesives, it is important to prepare the surfaces well. This involves cleaning them to remove any dirt or grease, roughening them slightly with sandpaper to improve adhesion, and applying the product precisely using a fine brush or needle. Pressing the parts firmly together and holding them in place while the adhesive dries results in an air-pocket-free and stronger bond. Any excess or leftovers should be wiped off immediately in order to maintain a clean finish.

Beyond their adhesive properties, GSW plastic adhesives can also be used to give texture to plastic surfaces with exceptional realism. When a thin layer of glue is applied and left to act for a few seconds, the surface of the plastic softens slightly, becoming malleable enough to be shaped using a stiff brush, sponge, or even a piece of dry die. This technique allows modelers to give texture to subtle surface imperfections and natural roughness directly onto the plastic.

The resulting texture faithfully reproduces the appearance of molten metal, heat-deformed panels, rusty armor or melted industrial surfaces. It is particularly effective for armored vehicles, tanks, mechanical bases, and diorama structures, where it achieves a very convincing aged or battle-worn finish, which looks much more organic than that achieved with putty or textured paints.

By controlling the reaction time, modelers can decide how deep the softening will be and therefore how intense the final texture is. The process combines chemical softening and manual modeling, producing a subtle "molten plastic" effect that adds an extra layer of depth and authenticity to any miniature or model project.

Valid for the following types of materials: polystyrene, PE, ABS, and uPVC.
