This foldable, pre-painted backdrop is designed to be compatible with competitive games of Warhammer 40,000 by providing reliable line-of-sight blocking, elevated shooting positions, and a consistent footprint for today's gaming tables. Designed for quick deployment and easy transport, they are ideal for tournament organizers, clubs, and players who want a convenient, space-saving field for an immersive experience in their games. They are also perfectly compatible with other 28-32mm sci-fi skirmishes and wargames, such as Kill Team, Necromunda, Infinity, Deadzone, Core Space, Stargrave, and Zombicide: Invader.

This set includes all the buildings needed to build all the game card combinations for the competitive Warhammer 40k tournaments : including all the necessary U-shaped buildings, the 8 low walls or obstacles, the 4 small L-shaped ruins (two are assembled in an L-shape to the left and two in an L-shaped to the right; once glued, their orientation is fixed), and finally 6 large L-shaped ruins that stick together in a single orientation and can be used as a left or right L by simply turning the whole piece 180° when it is placed on the table. For maximum flexibility and to always have all possible design combinations, we recommend buying 6 additional large L-shaped ruins and assembling them in the opposite orientation to the first 6.

Each ruin is fully pre-painted by elves with a high level of detail, with sci-fi neutral tones and wear effects that fit any army and battlefield theme from Warhammer 40k. Once assembled, they're ready to play right out of the box.

These Matched Play ruins require a simple initial assembly, for which we recommend using white glue (PVA glue). This adhesive works particularly well with MDF wood and ensures strong yet flexible assemblies that are ideal for repeated bending. We do not recommend the use of cyanoacrylate, as it can damage painted surfaces and become brittle with prolonged use.

All models are reversible, allowing you to assemble all buildings to the left or right, depending on your layout and tactical needs. This added flexibility makes it easier to replicate terrain configurations and helps maintain consistency in placement throughout games. Please note that once permanently glued, the ruins will remain in the chosen configuration, either to the left or to the right.

To prevent buildings of the same shape from looking identical, the kit includes optional removable wall sections with pre-cut break zones. Leave them intact for competitive play, or open breakpoints to add combat damage and variation—customization is quick and entirely optional.

This pre-painted décor is made of durable MDF wood and helps you immediately upgrade your table without having to paint it: competitive function, great visual appearance and most importantly effortless transport.
