Álex de la Iglesia, director, screenwriter and producer of films and series, including the excellent 30 Coins, very 'Cthullesque, is also an experienced role-player. He gives us his personal version of Call of Cthulhu in the 1920s.

In this adventure, the investigators have two days to eradicate the unexplained phenomena of which the staff and guests of the most luxurious hotel in Cairo are victims.

Macabre Farce combines a free-form investigation structure and programmed events, so that the gameplay experience is different for each group and the scenario can be easily replayed. In addition, thanks to the tools at his disposal, the Guardian can add random elements to the plot at any time without ever losing the thread of the story.

In this race against time, investigators will be able to uncover secrets buried since ancient Egypt, attend a sumptuous costume party, see the premiere of the film Häxan (Witchcraft Through the Ages), meet real-world personalities (archaeologist Howard Carter, King Fuad I of Egypt, Aga Khan III, director Benjamin Christensen, etc.). or even Agatha Christie and Winston Churchill) and reunite with familiar faces from Call of Cthulhu. But they could also miss all that and uncover another mystery to investigate.

You will find:

the introduction of the many main characters;

a step-by-step chronology of events, and another of the year 1922;

a detailed description of the hotel, with more than thirty different locations;

spells, artifacts, tome of the Myth, and other monsters related to the plot;

random lists with lots of supporting characters, rumors, and inexplicable phenomena;

a fold-out diagram allowing the Guardian to track the movements of NPCs;

A fold-out map of the hotel for the use of the players.

This book explores adult themes such as drugs and sex, so it is aimed at people in the know.
