This game tells the story of the legendary war between trolls and gnomes, which occurred several generations before the events of The Mountain King's Lair.

In an unstoppable onslaught, the gnomes have managed to break through our gates, and their hordes are now sweeping into our realm deep in the mountain.

In the face of this invasion, few heroes dare to stand up.

Yet, you are one of them.

Taking the lead of the troll defenders, you enjoin your people to fight for their salvation, but that is not enough.

You must also enlist the support of the various clans, fend off the invaders, and defend the great sacred halls, as the situation continues to worsen.

The fall of the King of the Mountain seems inevitable, but the ferocity of your struggle feeds the flame of our hope; the hope of one day being able to return home.

A "Tower Defense" in the Mountain

The game is played in three rounds called waves.

At the start of each wave, you upgrade your ascendancy, a set of symbols that determine your abilities.

On each of your turns, you perform actions to place your trolls in the caverns (by facing your rivals and fighting gnomes) as well as to add trolls to the board, manipulate the gnomes, and influence powerful champions to join

your faction.

To each his own Faction!

At the end of each wave, new gnomes invade several caverns, sinking deeper and deeper into the bowels of the mountain.

Over the course of the game, you'll earn honor by defeating gnomes, falling gloriously in battle during invasions, and benefiting from the abilities of certain champions.

At the end of Waves I and II, you earn honor by controlling caverns, including being present in the different areas related to each clan.

At the end of Wave III, you gain honor by participating in the defensive perimeter around the large halls, preserving many of the Ancient symbols in your ancestry, and accumulating the most votes from each clan (votes earned from champions by impressing them with your aggressiveness in their territory).

At the end of the game, the player with the most honor wins!
