Life in the village is hard, but it also allows the inhabitants to grow and prosper as they see fit.

A villager may want to become a monk.

Another may feel ambitious and aim for a career in the public service.

A third may want to try their luck in faraway lands.

In Village, each player takes the reins of a family and tries to help them find fame and fame in different ways.

There is, however, one thing you must not forget: Time will not stand still for anyone, and if time permits, people will disappear.

Those who will be immortalized in the chronicles of the village will bring honor to their families and will come closer to victory.

Specifically, each turn, you take a cube from an area of the game board and then perform the action from that area.

The board has areas with specific attributes, a market, a travel area, a crafting area, a church, and a council house, and each area is seeded with four-colored cubes as well as black cubes that serve as a curse.

Most of these areas offer multiple actions.

For example, if you take a cube from the crafting area, you can get an ox, a horse, a cart, a plough, or a scroll, or convert wheat into gold.

Some areas offer short-term scores, some offer long-term scores, and some offer endgame-only scores.

The round ends when there are no cubes left on any slot.

The game ends when the village chronicle or the anonymous cemetery is full.

Descendants: Big Box contains the base game Village, the Inn and Port expansions, all previously released promotions, as well as a new "Wedding" expansion, with all materials embeddable with each other and the game now containing a single-player mode as well as revised gameplay, dual-layer player boards, and a larger main board, double-sided, which eliminates the need for overlays used in the original extensions.
