Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart has just died.

He composed music until his last breath, but he was unable to complete the Lacrimosa movement of his Opus Requiem.

You, as one of his patrons, meet his wife in order to participate one last time in the financing of the works of Austrian genius.

Lacrimosa is a Eurogame for expert players in which players take on the role of patrons of the late musician, contributing with their funds to complete the composer's last work.

During the game, you play in two different timelines: the present and the past.

In the present tense, you order the missing parts of the Requiem from other composers in order to complete it.

In the past, the game takes place in five eras to which you contribute by buying new compositions, but also by accompanying him on his various journeys through the main courts of Europe, to gather the resources you need to support the musician during his career.

During the game, you play cards from a limited hand that you improve as the game progresses.

These cards (Different for each round) can be played either as actions or as resource generators: it's up to you to optimize resources and finances in order to support your version of the story and your relationship with Mozart's widow.
