Originating in China, the game of Go pits two opponents against each other who take turns placing stones, respectively black and white, on the intersections of a gridded board called goban in Japanese (??, qípán in Chinese). The goal is to control the game plan by building "territories". The encircled stones become "prisoners", the winner being the player with the most territories and prisoners!
