Shape your lineage through 700 years of human and vampiric history

Take control of vampire clans, develop your lineage, and dominate the bloody conflicts of the night. Will you be able to gain the upper hand in this struggle through the ages? Or will you let your immortal rivals snatch victory from between your fangs at the end of the millennium?  Carpe Noctem!

In Vampire The Masquerade - Heritage, you take on the role of a former vampire. You shape seven hundred years of vampiric and human history in pursuit of ancient secrets, while trying to escape the Inquisition and try to save what's left of your humanity.

Heritage is a legacy game that plays quickly. Each game, players gather the characters from a common reserve for their bloodlines. These characters influence different vampiric "battlefields" and help complete story-based missions.

For example, a warrior born into the nobility may support Joan of Arc to end the siege of Orleans, while also altering the balance of an internal vampiric power struggle or attracting unwanted attention from the Inquisition. In addition to collecting characters from their bloodline, players can also use the unique plot cards of the clan they are playing, changing the rules of the game to match the character of their clan.

After each game, players have the opportunity to collect and store their achievements in their timeline, which serves as a chronicle of their actions throughout the seven hundred years of history and also influences the final outcome of the campaign.

In addition, players can turn certain mortals into vampires permanently by playing cards and flipping them, revealing their vampiric side and giving them new abilities and a name. These are put back into the common reserve and can be improved in the next games. To keep the surprise during the embrace (transformation of mortals into vampires), all the character cards are pre-cut and you will discover the effect after doing the embrace action!

This way, players advance in the story based on the progress of the historical mission cards, unlocking new challenges, characters, and rewards along the way.

Eventually, the seven hundred years will end with a happy ending, with players fighting to unravel ancient mysteries using the clues, allies, and power they have gathered throughout the campaign.
