In Betrayal at House on the Hill, players take on the role of explorers who investigate a creepy old house made up of different rooms. Every time you enter a new room, you expose yourself to serious dangers. The explorers change over the course of the game, depending on how they handle the surprises in the house. The house is different every time you build it. During the game, an explorer becomes the traitor and challenges his former companions. The other explorers become heroes who struggle to survive. From then on, the game becomes a fight between the traitor and the heroes, until death ensues. Betrayal at House on the Hill has fifty haunts, each of which tells a different story. It's up to you!

Your mission is to explore this mysterious house.

During the game, make your explorer as strong as possible until the traitor is designated. After that, your goal will be to complete your objectives according to your role as a traitor or a hero.

Progress of a game

Each player explores the house in turn. In turn, you can do as many actions as you want, in any order:

Movement: You can move while respecting your character's abilities.

Discovering a new room: When your explorer enters a door and there is no room on the other side, look at the top tile on the coin stack.

Using Item and Omen cards: All explorers can use items. Some monsters can too, if the rules allow it.

Dice roll: several times during the game, you have the opportunity to play one or more dice. Each die has faces with 0, 1 or 2 points.

Attack: Once during your turn, you can attack an opponent in the same room. When you make an attack, roll a number of dice equal to your Power. Your opponent precedes in the same way. Whoever achieves a higher result defeats their opponent and deals physical damage.

During the game, a player takes on the role of traitor. The game radically changes configuration. From now on, two camps are confronting, the traitor on one side and the heroes on the other.

FOOD AND POTIONS PAWNS: You can serve 4 types of miniature food tokens, but also potions to ensure customer satisfaction. Playing a Potion token on a hero card earns a Service Bonus

THE PLAYER WITH THE MOST POINTS WINS: Gems (and points) are collected by placing a hero at the table, by resolving the effect of a hero card or by triggering a service bonus. You can earn more points by completing objectives and through end-of-game bonuses

PLAY EN SOLO OR AGAINST FRIENDS AND FAMILY: You can work alone in the tavern or compete against the rest of the staff. The modular game board fits for 1 to 4 players.
