Inflexible - North Africa

Publisher: Nuts!

It's the summer of 1940 and the North African campaign has begun. The Long Range Desert Group (LRDG), a reconnaissance and covert operations unit of the British Army, has just been formed. His mission was to get behind enemy lines to gather intelligence and prepare for raids. Command these reckless soldiers in a series of daring missions, or command the fearsome forces of the Royal Italian Army to eradicate these incursions once and for all. Take matters into your own hands amid the chaos of desert warfare, outwit opposition across exposed sands and rocky terrain, and stand unyielding.

In Inflexible: North Africa, you command a group of desert warfare specialists or a unit of the conventional Italian army. Through a series of missions, you will have to fight to take, hold or destroy strategic objectives. Each scenario will have a different tile landscape than the others, which you will have to master in order to seize the objectives and gain advantageous positions. You'll play cards from your deck to control your men, and as their wounds pile up, you'll need to acquire new cards to reinvigorate your exhausted soldiers.

If you've played Inflexible: Normandy before:

Inflexible: North Africa is the second game to use the Inflexible system. If you've ever played Inflexible: Normandy, then you'll already be familiar with the concepts of this game. However, it is different enough that you read these rules entirely. Here is a summary of the main differences to consider:
  • Scale: In North Africa, each Fighter token represents a single soldier, instead of a group of soldiers.
  • Casualties: In North Africa you command if a Fighter token is removed from the board, all corresponding Fighter cards are removed from the deck. Combatant tokens that leave the board cannot return, as they could in Normandy.
  • Asymmetry: In most missions in North Africa, the objectives and composition of the LRDG and Italian forces are much more asymmetrical than in Normandy.
  • Control: In North Africa, you can take control of a tile occupied by an enemy Fighter token if the enemy does not already control it.
  • New Elements: North Africa introduces new types of soldiers, actions, vehicles, structures, and more!
