Guide your monkey tribe through a post-apocalyptic world

In 2083, humanity has been missing for several decades, leaving an abandoned world where apes have formed tribes and begun to tame human objects. As the leader of one of these tribes, you must guide them to collective intelligence by placing your cards next to each other to form lines that generate resources, victory points, and special effects. Success in this fierce competition depends on the effective arrangement of your cards.

To win in After us, you need to reach 80 victory points before your opponents. Each turn, all players will simultaneously draw the first 4 cards in their deck and then assemble them, from left to right, to form activation cartridges. They will then solve these cartridges, one by one, from left to right, to gain resources, victory points or activate the special abilities of their primates.

The whole point of the game is therefore to assemble it wisely, according to what you want to get from the cards you have drawn. Once this activation phase is resolved, all players have the opportunity to add a new monkey to their tribe: chimpanzee, gorilla, mandrill, or orangutan. This choice depends as much on their specific abilities as on the resources available to the players.
