Gloomhaven: Buttons & Critters is a single-player board game inspired by the famous Gloomhaven, but condensed into a compact format. Imagined by Isaac Childres, the creator of the saga, it offers a new campaign combining strategy, adventure and immersive storytelling, while maintaining the tactical essence of the original game.

A miniature adventure in the world of Gloomhaven

This new epic takes place after the events of Gloomhaven and Forgotten Circles. The powerful Aesther Hail, now famous for saving the city many times, has had enough of heroes in search of glory who come to disturb her research. To regain her tranquility, she casts a spell on her door : anyone who tries to open it is immediately shrunk to the size of a mouse.

You play as one of these unlucky apprentice heroes. Reduced to a tiny size, you must survive in a world where every bug becomes a threat, and find a way to reach the Crooked Bone again to convince Hail to return you to your normal size.

A clever and condensed game system

Each scenario is played out on a single map : a mercenary faces off against a few enemies with simplified actions and streamlined AI. Your mercenary has only four double-sided cards , but each can be used twice before being discarded. Battles are resolved using a die and a modifier table, providing a smooth and strategic experience.

As the campaign progresses, you'll be able to improve your abilities, cards, and modifier table, gaining power while facing ever tougher challenges. Despite its small size, Gloomhaven: Buttons & Critters retains all the tactical depth and narrative richness of its big brother.
