The game is based on the Texas Hold'em variation, but with a cooperative twist. It is possible to increase the difficulty for more experienced players, thus offering a nice progression curve.

"The Gang" takes place over several "heists", each consisting of four turns. Players must assess the strength of their hand without talking directly to each other about the cards, using tokens to indicate the strength of their combinations. Unlike traditional poker games, bluffing is prohibited. Players must listen to each other's visual cues to make the best decisions. The goal is to pull off at least three heists, otherwise the game is lost.
