In many ways, 7 Wonders Duel resembles its big brother 7 Wonders.

Players acquire cards over the course of three ages, each of which provides resources or advances their military or scientific development in order to develop their civilization or build wonders.

What's different about 7 Wonders Duel is that, as the title suggests, the game is only for two players.

The latter do not draw cards simultaneously from hands of cards, but from a mixture of face-down and face-up cards arranged in a pyramidal formation at the beginning of each age.

A player can only take a card if it is not covered by others.

The timing and choices you're going to make are crucial.

Just like in the original game, every card you acquire can be constructed, discarded for coins, or used to build a wonder.

Each player starts with four wonder cards, and building a wonder gives its owner a special ability.

However, only seven wonders can be built, so a player will find themselves unable to build all four.

Players can purchase resources at any time, or they can acquire cards during the game that will provide them with resources for future construction.

When you acquire resources, the cost of those resources increases for your opponent, which represents your dominance in that area.

A player can win a game of 7 Wonders Duel in one of three ways:

Each time you acquire a military card, you advance the military counter towards your opponent's capital, giving you a bonus to certain positions; If you reach the opponent's capital, you win the game immediately by military domination.

Similarly, if you acquire six of the seven different science symbols, you get scientific dominance and win immediately.

If none of these situations occur, then the player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
