Three cats fought over and over again to see who was the strongest in the kingdom.

Since they could never decide between themselves, they came up with the idea of an epic contest. Who among them would be able to eat the spiciest dishes?

An idea, certainly, that was not lacking in salt! The contest was held... And then the cats began to taste...

Spicy is a delightful card game in which 2 to 6 players try to impose their superiority by tasting spicy dishes... or by pretending they do!

Bluffing is indeed part of the game, and it will be quite possible (even advisable) to lie on the cards played.

The principle of the game is simple: players place cards face down on top of each other while announcing aloud the type of spice (pepper, wasabi or chili) and its Power (from 1 to 10).

The constraint is to announce a card of the same spice as the card previously played, and of an always higher power.

But as in any good bluff game, players can perfectly well lie by actually laying down a card that has nothing to do with what they are calling.

A very tactical protest

Where Spicy gets its originality is in the action of calling the bluff of the last card played.

The protesting player must make a choice: did his opponent lie about the spice OR about his Power? The choice is decisive, because any mistake is punished by the drawing of additional cards in the event of a mistake.

But if protest is dangerous, it is still necessary. A successful challenge allows you to recover all the cards played and score points!

If no one disputes a card laying, the game round continues. The next player will also have to play a card and announce the same spice, but with an even higher value. Whether he's telling the truth or not.

Win the game...

There are several ways to win the game, which allows for quite different strategies.

-Whenever a player manages to play the last card in their hand, they immediately take a trophy card.

The latter is worth 10 victory points, but also gives him an automatic victory if the player manages to get two.

-If no one gets two trophies, the victory will be decided on points.

Hence the importance of being wrongly challenged, in order to recover as many points cards as possible.

The game ends when the cats reach the "end of the world", i.e. a special card inserted into the deck at the beginning of the game.

So there are two possible attitudes: a race to lie to empty your hand as quickly as possible, or play honestly and try to be challenged!

Complementary game modes

After a few games, add a few small twists with special cards that change the course of the game.

You will be able to change the type of Chili Pepper played, win the cards played if no one disputes a 4 or decree that a 6 has the same power as a 9... 6 Seasoning cards are available to make your tastings always different and allow for huge replayability.

Between bluff and risk-taking...

Bringing together from 2 to 6 liars, the game is a festival of trickery, dirty tricks and card counting for a result that is as exciting as it is accessible: a quick and guilty little pleasure that glorifies the lie and leaves bitter memories for the unfortunate losers.

A delight, very spicy!
